In this step-by-step polymer clay tutorial, you will learn how to make a Rainbow Heart Bangle. ❤️We thank Lucy Struncova for sharing this great tutorial with us.
About the author.
My name is Lucie Štruncová but you may know me by my nickname “Lucy” which I’ve been using for quite a long time now. My polymer addiction started quite a few years ago. As for everybody, the beginnings were rough. I remember that once I tried to play with a cube of glittering polymer and I cut out these “awesome” treble clefs. I couldn’t even imagine the possibilities of polymer clay and how many people actually worked with it. In short, I’ve simply discovered things gradually on my own. I visited my first course by Veronika Sturdy about a year later and there it all started. Courses followed curses and ideas kept on coming. But I realized that I needed to practice, to put something of myself into my products.
Wherever I work (whether at home or in a workshop) I try really hard to put something from me in every piece, to make it unique. I was honored to meet and learn from many foreign instructors from all over the world. Lecturers have taught me a lot but now I’m focusing on my own work, courses, and e-books…
I love writing tutorials for you and I want to pass as much knowledge to you as possible. Besides my own production, I also work at LC Tools which is a business that we’ve started with my father. I try to promote, test and design our products, which make the work easier for all of you handy girls. Guess I’m kind of a “mom” of all this stuff. I sincerely hope that the polymer clay will win you over as well. Give yourself a chance to develop your own creativity and believe me that this amazing material has a great future! Materials and supplies:
• Extension from LC Disk 4 “Bridge”
• Rainbow hearts cane (read the tutorial in our blog)
• Polymer clay – black and pastel colors
If you’ve started creating the Heart pattern, you can also use it for the bracelet that you can make also by the extension from the red Disk. This extrusion will save you a lot of time and Czextruder will practically make the whole bracelet for you. And then it‘s just up to you how you decorate it.
Step 1.
Firstly, you will need a Rainbow hearts cane from Lucy’s tutorial, cut it in thin slices. I know, it‘s really difficult, so I use an LC Slicer by LUCY CLAY. With the LC Slicer, it is easy to cut exact slices of canes for the bracelet.
Step 2.
Try to cut all slices of the same thickness.
Step 3.
In this tutorial I use Kato Polyclay, so you can see that Czextruder works with hard clay too. You need black polymer clay and the leftovers of pastel colors from Rainbow hearts cane.
Step 4.
You need an extension „Bridge“ from LC Disk 4 for Czextruder.
Step 5.
Condition the pastel clay and extrude it through the “Bridge” extension.
Step 6.
Prepare the form for bracelets. You can use a big cutter, a glass… anything that has a diameter of your wrist. Measure the length of the extrusion from Czextruder with a ruler. It must have the same length as the diameter of the form.
Step 7.
Wrap the extrusion around the form, pay attention to the air bubbles. And cut the ends at an angle. Use Liquid polymer clay as a glue.
Step 8.
Join the ends of extrusions together.
Step 9.
Next, add the second half-heart extrusion from the other side. Make sure to assemble it accurately so that the heart lines up perfectly.
Step 10.
Smooth gently with a roller, but be careful not to distort the heart shape.
Step 11.
Cut this cane in thirteen parts of 2 centimeters each (approx 0,8″)
Step 12.
Finally, place every heart cane next to each other in a row. Surprise! Here is your rainbow heart cane.
