Materials and tools:
- Polymer clay (white or pearl)
- Machine
- Czextuder + LC Disk 8 (extension with 2 semicircles)
- Scalpel, blade
- Paper
- Pencil, Compass, Protractor, Ruler
Step 1
Draw a circle with a compass. Then use a protractor to divide it into 9 parts (40° each).
Step 2
Connect the points to form 3 equilateral triangles.
Step 3
Connect each vertex to 2 opposite vertices and the template is ready.
Step 4
Condition polymer clay and put it into the Czextruder. Use the extension with 2 semicircles from LC Disk 8 and extrude the clay. Cut all extrusions into the same pieces (about 2 longer than your template). You will need 18 extrusions.
Step 5
Let’s make the star. Follow the same procedure as for drawing. Start with the first triangle. Press at joints and cut off the excess clay.
Step 6
Make the other two triangles the same way. Press at all the joints.
Step 7
Again, connect each vertex to 2 opposite vertices.
Step 8
Complete the whole star and bake according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Step 9
After baking, place a second tile on the star to avoid bending. Let it cool down. Hang the star on a window or door and you are done.
