What is the price of LC Mini Slicer?
The price of LC Mini Slicer may be found in Lucy Clay Store and Amazon USA.
Where can I purchase LC Mini Slicer?
You may purchase LC Mini Slicer in Lucy Clay Store, Amazon USA and at Lucy Clay’s partners.
Is there a measuring grid?
No, there are no measuring grids on the new version of LC Mini Slicer.
How can I measure the thickness?
Turn the back knob to move the platform forward, 1 full turn moves the platform approx. 0.02”/1mm. For your ease, you may put a dot on the top of the back knob for visual control.
How can I keep slices constantly thin?
Always turn the knob for the same amount of turns to have slices of the same thickness.
How big canes can it cut?
LC Mini Slicer fits a cane with size up to:
height - 4.5 cm / 1.8″ approx.
width - 4.5 cm / 1.8″ approx.
length - 12 cm / 4.7″ approx.
What is the minimal length of the cane I can cut?
The smallest gap between the blade and the backstop support is approx. 1.4″ (3.5 cm). Therefore, the shortest cane is 3.5 cm (if you want to lean the cane on the backstop support). The LC Mini Slicer can cut only medium and small-size canes, so using the backrest is not necessary. But if you want, you may reduce the gap by using an acrylic block as a backrest for the cane.
Is it hard to put together? How do I assemble it?
It is easy to put together, please watch the video and find the assembly instructions on the Lucy Clay blog.
I saw another design of LC Mini Slicer, what is it?
There were several generations of LC Mini Slicer, therefore, you might have seen the older model of the Mini Slicer. Older models are out of production. You may learn more about the old Mini Slicer models on Lucy Clay Blog.
Does it distort your cane during slicing?
There is always distortion when working with polymer clay. LC Mini Slicer reduces the distortion thanks to a very sharp rigid blade and lever mechanism. Nevertheless, there might still be minimal distortion. To reduce the distortion to almost zero, please choose stiff clay as soft clay tends to distort more.
The blade doesn't cut all the way through a cane. What is wrong?
After you assemble your LC Mini Slicer do not forget to set the blade. Follow the steps in the manual and watch the video. The wing nut may also loosen itself over time, readjust the blade when you are experiencing cutting issues.
I have another question. Where can I ask my question?
Please, address your question to support@lucyclay.com.
