LC Disk 11 – Patterns from Czextruder

June 21, 2021
LC Disk 11 is great for making patchwork patterns. Discover what possibilities this disc can offer.

8-POINT STAR PATTERN

Step 1

Prepare 2 extensions from LC Disk 11 and polymer clay in pink and white color.

Step 2

Put the pink clay in the Czextruder and extrude it through the star disc. Then extrude the white clay through the cross disc.

Step 3

Cut all extrusions into the same pieces (about 5 – 10 cm long). Start assembling your cane.

Step 4

Slice the pattern using LC Slicer or LC Mini Slicer.

DIAMOND CANE

Step 1

For this pattern, you will only need one disc from LC Disk 11. Prepare polymer clay in four colors. I used black, white, red and violet.

Step 2

Extrude clay through the disc. Cut all extrusions into smaller pieces.

Step 3

Assemble the cane. You can see that the same colors do not touch each other.

Step 4

Slice your cane. You can use LC Slicer or LC Mini Slicer to make more even slices.

CANE WITH 3D-EFFECT

Step 1

For this pattern, you will need a trapezoid disc from LC Disk 11 and square discs from LC Disk 2 and LC Disk 6. Prepare clay in four colors – white, yellow, dark pink. and light pink.

Step 2

Extrude yellow clay through the square disc (LC Disk 2), white through the square disc (LC Disk 6), and dark pink and light pink through the trapezoid disc.

Step 3

Take the pink extrusions (of both shades) and press them together to form a V shape. Place the yellow extrusion between them to form a square cane.

Step 4

Make a bigger cane.

Step 5

Slice the cane and use it in your project.

PATCHWORK CANE 1

Step 1

For the first patchwork cane, you will need a small triangle disc and a triangle expansion disc from LC Disk 11. Prepare polymer clay in two contrast colors – I used green and white clay.

Step 2

Extrude both colors through both discs. Cut extrusions into smaller pieces.

Step 3

Take one green triangle extrusion and place it on the white triangle expansion extrusion. Proceed the same with extrusions in reverse colors. Make more triangle canes this way.

Step 4

Press four triangle canes together to make a square cane. Make more square canes and press them together.

Step 5

Slice the cane.

PATCHWORK CANE 2 (STAR)

Step 1

For this patchwork star cane, you will need only one disc – a triangle (small or big) disc from LC Disk 11. You will also need clay in two colors. I used white and pink.

Step 2

Extrude white and pink clay through the triangle disc. Cut all the extrusions into smaller pieces.

Step 3

Make canes – press together one white extrusion and one pink extrusion.

Step 4

Start making the cane – rotate canes to create a star pattern.

Step 5

Before using the cane in your project, slice it with LC Slicer or LC Minislicer.

SPIDERWORT CANE

Step 1

Prepare a flower from LC Disk 1 and a matching disc from LC Disk 11. I used white, violet, and pink clay.

Step 2

Put white clay into the Czextruder, use the flower disc from LC Disk 3, and extrude clay. Then extrude violet and pink clay through the other disc.

Step 3

Place white extrusion between one violet and one pink extrusion.

Step 4

Press more canes together to make a bigger cane.

Step 5

Cut thin slices. You can use LC Slicer or LC Mini Slicer.

STAR CANE

Step 1

Prepare these two extensions, a rhombus disc from the LC Disk 11, and a square disc from LC Disk 5. You will also need clay in three colors. I used green, red, and white.

Step 2

Extrude green and red clay through the rhombus disc and white through the square disc. Cut all the extrusions into smaller pieces.

Step 3

Take red and green extrusions and press them together to form a V shape. Place the white extrusion between them.

Step 4

Take four canes and press them together to form a star cane. Roll the cane in your hands to achieve a round-shaped cane.

Step 5

Before using the cane in your project, slice it with LC Slicer or LC Minislicer.

PATCHWORK CANE 3

Step 1

Prepare two triangle extensions from LC Disk 11, polymer clay in yellow, dark violet, and light violet.

Step 2

Extrude the yellow clay through the bigger triangle disc and violet (both shades) clay through the smaller triangle disc.

Step 3

Cut all extrusions into the same pieces (about 5 – 10 cm long). Press together two violet extrusions. Add yellow extrusion to form a square cane.

Step 4

Press these eight canes together to create a bigger cane.

Step 5

Slice the pattern using LC Slicer or LC Mini Slicer.

RHOMBUS CANE

Step 1

Prepare an L disc from LC Disk 11, a square disc from LC Disk 2, and polymer clay – blue, gray, and white.

Step 2

I extruded gray and blue clay through the L disc and white clay through the square disc.

Step 3

Cut all extrusions into smaller pieces. Place the white extrusion between one blue extrusion and one gray extrusion. Then make a bigger cane.

Step 4

Slice your cane. You can use LC Slicer or LC Mini Slicer to make more even slices.

COMPLEX PATTERN

Step 1

Prepare these two discs from the LC Disk 11 and polymer clay in four colors. I used three shades of violet clay and white clay.

Step 2

Extrude the white clay through the small triangle disc and purple clay through the other disc.

Step 3

Cut the extrusion into small pieces (about 1 cm long)

Step 4

Start assembling the pattern. Take two (violet) extrusions. Place them so that the top of one extrusion touches the center of the other extrusion.

Step 5

Make the whole clay this way. You can see that the same shades do not touch each other.
