Using Mica powders on polymer clay you can create amazing effects. Let’s make some earrings with glittering textures. It is easy with LC Stencils by Lucy Clay.
Kája has been exploring art ever since she could hold a pencil. The love for art, architecture, and photography has led her to Pilsen’s Secondary school of Civil Engineering, where she’s currently studying. There, she developed a passion for the Science and Math behind materials, something that she wants to pursue in the future. Only recently did she delve into polymer clays after starting work at Lucy Clay in 2020.
Materials and tools:
- Polymer clay (white)
- LC Machine, Roller
- LC Stencils set 3
- Pigment powders (Mica powders) for polymer clay (pearl and green)
- Small brush
- Scalpel, blade
- 4 jump rings and earring hooks
Condition polymer clay. Prepare sheet (about 2 mm thick) of polymer clay in white color. Place an LC Stencil on the sheet and gently roll over with an acrylic roller.
Apply green and pearl mica powders and carefully remove the LC Stencil.
Cut the desired shape using a cookie cutter or LC Shape Plates. Bake in the oven according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
If necessary, sand the edges and backside. You can also use UV resin to make earring shinier.
Drill a hole for hanging.
