LC Machine Q&A.
Can I use LC Machine for making pasta or other food?
LC Machines are not designed, certified or approved for use with foodstuffs.
What is the difference between Squirrel and Elephant model?
The main difference between 2 models is the positions on the tabletop – you can place a Squirrel model anywhere on your worktable. The Elephant model can be placed only at the edge of the table.
I want to buy a Mammoth model, where can I get one?
Unfortunately, Mammoth model is not available any more. LC Machine Squirrel and Elephant offer you even better solutions for more affordable price and more compact size.
What is an accu-drive solution?
You can use LC Machine with a drill. Connect the drill via a hexagonal adapter (the adapter included in the package). Lucy Clay usually recommends a cordless drill, as it is handier. But it is up to you, you may use any drill. The only specification of your drill that matters is Rotations Per Minute (RPM). The LC Machine requires approximately 280 – 350 RPM (Rotations Per Minute). Please check your drill’s specifications to make sure that you DO NOT surpass the MAXIMUM rotation speed of 350 rpm.
Using LC Machine with a cordless drill is an ideal solution in terms of performance, price, practicality, and versatility. It is ideal if you have to condition very stiff clay, if you have to condition a lot of clay or if your hands/shoulders are not so strong.
What is the maximum gap between rollers?
Currently, both models of LC Machine (Squirrel and Elephant) have an adjustable gap between rollers 0.5 -12mm, which is currently the largest gap on the market.
How will the LC Machine be packed? Will there be assembly after unboxing?
Our goal is for you to have as little assembly as possible. At the moment, LC Elephant is fully assembled and LC Squirrel is party assembled. Please watch the Video of unboxing and assembling LC Machine Squirrel.
How to secure the LC Machine to the work surface?
In the base of the LC Machine, there are 4 special strong magnet pads. Attach those metal magnet pads to your table with double-sided tape (also included in the package). You may also screw the metal magnet pads to your table.
Another option is to countersink magnets into your table and screw the pads onto the base of the LC Machine. The principle is the same. Four strong magnets on your table could also be useful for holding other instruments in place.
Now you can easily attach and detach your LC Machine from the magnetic pads with one movement. Of course, the pad could serve as a coaster for your coffee mug!
A final option is to place the LC Machine on the edge of the work surface and secure it using C-clamps. You cab buy C-clamps at hobby stores and hardware stores. We did not include them in the package of LC Machine because we don’t want to sell you something you don’t need or already have.
What are the supporting bolts for?
The gap is set by an aluminium knob/wheel. Two black supporting screws prevent the roller frame from sagging under pressure. Thanks to this you can set up gap up to 12 mm.
When/How to clean the LC Blades / cleaner blades?
During use, clean the cleaner blades on the rollers from time to time and whenever needed. Watch the video to learn how to clean the blades.
How to proceed if I have received a damaged LC Machine?
Never accept a crushed, damaged or opened parcel without asking a report from the postman/delivery service. If you receive it damaged, please inform us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org before sharing it on the Internet.
How / Where to make a complaint?
If you are having any trouble with your LC Machine, feel free to contact us at email@example.com. If possible, attach a photo/video documentation.
