10 things that make the Lucy Clay pasta Machine great for polymer clay

October 10, 2018

You have surely heard that we at Lucy Clay Tools have recently come up with a long-awaited new polymer clay machine. I just love it! It was amazing to watch the whole process of design, development and building the greatest tool yet, theLucy Clay machine, from the beginning until the end. Before the launch, while I was testing, I realized that it’s the best one. I threw my mini pasta machine into a corner and never used it again… it isn’t necessary any more. Here are 10 reasons why the LC Machine by Lucy Clay is a great helper in every polymer workshop and maybe, after you finish reading the article, you’ll be persuaded to find a place for it in yours as well. 🙂

Designed specifically for work with polymer clay

I’ve had many pasta machines from different manufacturers in my hands. They were either pasta machines, and we’ve all discovered in a short time that polymer clay is not dough and needs a bit of a different approach, or they were polymer clay machines – or so it seemed. You’d soon figure out they were inferior quality, made with no consistent quality control.

LC Machine is, I dare say, the first machine developed specifically for polymer clay. Put a whole cube of polymer clay in it, Lucy Clay machine will handle it. 🙂

Designed by designers

You wrote to us from almost all over the world. Everyone had something to say: ideas, comments, drawings, tips… and we listened. We wrote everything down, thought about it and used it so that the LC Machine suits you – all those who love polymer clay, regardless of your level of expertise. We tried to solve every problem that plagued other machines and burdened every user.

Big size

One thing everybody wanted was for the machine to be properly big so that you could put a lot of polymer clay in at once. You know by now, that in the end, we have made different size variants so they would suit everybody’s needs and you could even travel with the smallest one.

Gap between rollers

Until now, it was only possible to make sheets up to about 3mm thick. Now everything’s changed! You can set your LC Machine to a thickness up to 12mm, which enables you to make perfect thick sheets without layering.

End of clamps

You may have experienced problems attaching your machine to the table with clamps with success on the fifth try or so, and in tight spaces at various events and workshops with almost no space left on the edge of the table. Thanks to the magnets on the underside of the LC Machine, you can attach it to your workspace with small metal plates and a bit of double-sided tape which can be easily removed anytime. The machine then stands sturdily on your table without any clamps that get in the way.

User-friendly pasta machine for clayers

All parts of the LC Machine were designed to be as user-friendly as possible. You can place the machine anywhere on a table, choose the right model to fit you. It’s easy to clean the whole machine in just a few minutes… In short, it’s really nice to work with.

Endurance, robustness, and material

We knew that if we wanted to create a revolutionary tool for every clayer all over the world, the materials for manufacturing had to be adequate. That’s why we have chosen the best on the market. Durable paint, solid and strong aluminium parts, high-quality chassis, and generally easy to clean parts all bring you a robust tool that few could destroy and will withstand even tougher polymer clay.

Gear rate 2:1

With most of the other machines, you have to really put effort into turning the crank, because the gear rates are 1:1. Many people employed a motor to make the work easier. The LC Machine is different. The 2:1 gear rate in the LC Machine lets you turn the crank with little force even while working with the tougher material and you essentially won’t need a motor.

Custom design

We surveyed students and experts in design as well as you, the end user. We asked what should the ideal pasta machine for polymer clay look like. The students came to us with perfect prototypes and you, the clayers, proposed the sizes and parameters. We have listened to everyone and put together a revolutionary tool.

Made with love

To create a sturdy machine for polymer clay was our grand dream. We all work hard to bring to the market a machine that would expand polymer work possibilities for clayers. We’re all now incredibly happy that we could realize the project. We’re looking forward to your feedback and comments!

Thank you for your support!
